Melissa was first introduced to yoga as a child by her parents. Her love of yoga has developed and continued to be an integral part of her life. She brings over 7 years of yoga practice and a lifelong study and exploration of movement and dance that guides her teaching. She has developed a graceful teaching style that combines attention to breath and awareness of proper alignment while creating an environment which nurtures the uniqueness of each student. Melissa has studied several different styles of hatha yoga including: Ananda, Iyengar, Viniyoga, Anusara, and Vinyasa.
Melissa received her teaching certification in 2001, and encourages in her classes that each individual discover a renewed sense of harmony and balance through practicing and developing strength, flexibility, breath work, and a calm mind.
